EMILY'S B I O:
www.emilybraden.net
Big, bad beauty from Boise, Idaho, Emily Braden covers a lot of ground. Whether she's fronting a symphony in British Columbia or leading an intimate jazz trio in Manhattan, Braden has the innate ability to win the heart of any audience with her powerhouse vocals and striking stage presence.

Winner of New York City's prestigious "Best of the Best" Jazzmobile Vocal Competition, Braden's signature sound is an effortless blend of jazz and soul. Her knock-out debut album Soul Walk is composed of high-energy originals and "flipped-out" jazz standards. Producer Misha Piatigorsky says, "As a singer, Emily has no boundaries. She gives me goose bumps." Braden has performed at notable NYC venues such as the Blue Note Jazz Club (Late Night Groove Series), Smalls Jazz Club, the Kitano and the Iridium Jazz Club as well as on international festival circuits. For the academic school year of 2013-2014, she was the artist-in-residence with the vocal program at Fresco Arts Academy in Boise, Idaho.

DYLAN'S BIO:
Dylan began playing the electric bass at age twelve and studied for six years with North West guitar legend Jho Blenis. Dylan’s early influences included Jaco Pastorius, James Jamerson, Marcus Miller and Victor Wooten. Dylan redirected his focus to the upright bass in high school and in his junior year was chosen to play in the Tacoma Community College All-City Jazz Band.

After graduation, he was awarded a talent scholarship to Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon to support the nationally recognized “Genesis Vocal Jazz Ensemble”. He spent three years there developing his craft. During that time, he also gigged extensively in the Portland area, and was called on for many sessions at the renowned recording studio “Kung Fu Bakery”.

Dylan has performed with several distinguished artists including Red Holloway, Farnell Newton, Darrell Grant, George Colligan, Scott Whitfield, and Louise Rose. Dylan relocated to the Boise area in the fall of 2010 to study with Grammy Award winning bassist Clark Sommers and further his jazz education.

After returning to Portland in 2012, Dylan has become one of the most sought after bassists in the music community. Dylan was quickly hired by the consummate drummer Christopher Brown, formerly of Roy Hargrove’s group, to be a part of a new quartet. That same quartet can now be seen at Jimmy Mak’s every Wednesday. The Christopher Brown Quartet has been added to a list of exclusive resident artists there, being the only new artist to be added in over 10 years.

Vocalist, Farayi, will be opening the concert. Farayi is studying at The New England Conservatory in Boston.
